Music at the Cathedral

The Cathedral Schola is the primary English-speaking vocal ensemble that sings at the Sunday morning 10:30am liturgy from September through the Solemnity of the Body and Blood of Christ. Membership is open to men and women. High school and college singers are encouraged to participate. Contact the Music Office for an interview. Rehearsals are on Sunday mornings from 8:15am-10:00am.

El Coro Hispano de la Catedral de Santa María ofrece el liderazgo musical, acompañando en la Misa Dominical de las 12:15pm, en los Días Festivos y en las liturgias bilingües de la Catedral. Motivamos a los guitarristas, trompetistas y a otros instrumentalistas que deseen unirse al coro. Los ensayos son los Martes por la noche, de 6:30-7:30pm.
The Cathedral Hispanic Choir provides musical leadership for the Sunday 12:15pm Spanish Mass, Holy Day celebrations, and bilingual liturgies at the cathedral. Guitarists, trumpet players, and other instrumentalists are encouraged to join the choir. Rehearsals are on Tuesday evenings from 6:30pm-7:30pm.

The Diocesan Adult Choir sings for diocesan liturgical celebrations such as the annual Honor's Mass and Ordinations. The Diocesan Choir will also sing for Advent Lessons and Carols and occasional celebrations of the Liturgy of the Hours. Rehearsals are every other Thursday evening from 7:30pm to 9:00pm.

The Cathedral/Diocesan Cantor Program is by audition only. All cathedral cantors must be affiliated with one of the cathedral choirs or the music program of his or her parish.

The Cathedral Brass is a group of professional level musicians that play on Holy Days and diocesan liturgical celebrations at the cathedral. Membership is by audition only.

Other Opportunities:
The Office of Divine Worship offers an annual organ study scholarship for pianists who wish to pursue the organ. Please contact the Music Office for further information.
