Discerning: Grade School

It is never too early to start thinking about God's call for you! Many, many priests say that they first began thinking about the priesthood when they were your age.

We are all called to serve God in different ways. Some people will be called to be priests. Others will hear God's call to enter a religious order. Most people will be married and have children. There is one vocation that everyone is called to, though. This is the call to be holy.

Even though your particular vocation might seem a long way off, you can begin to prepare for it now by working to grow closer to God. Pray often. Receive the sacraments. Always be on the lookout for opportunities to be charitable to others. Growing in holiness now will make it much easier to hear God's call in your life.
