Why did you become a seminarian?
The priesthood has always been on my heart, even when I was young. I remember first thinking about the priesthood in second grade after I had received my first communion. As I grew up, the calling really became strong after my first Emmaus Days, the summer before seventh grade. I heard the call all throughout the rest of middle school and high school, but I pushed it aside due to fear. I had instead convinced myself that I was to pursue Biology at the University of Illinois, with the hopes of doing research in the long-run. However, during my junior year of high school, after taking a trip to IHM Seminary, I realized the Lord was calling me to a life of service to His Church. I was not to be a doctor of medicine or research, but rather a doctor of souls! I eventually answered “yes” and have found great peace and joy in knowing I am doing what the Lord is asking of me.
What did you do before seminary?
I was a student at the High School of Saint Thomas More, where I participated in a variety of activities, such as: Varsity Tennis, National Honor Society, Spanish Honors Society, Campus Ministry, Ping Pong Club, and more!
An interesting fact about you:
I am a twin! My twin sister, Chloe, is attending the University of Illinois. I also enjoy spending time with friends and family, reading, learning about new subjects, and watching the Office (I've seen it at least 7 times).
