Tolono Food Pantry
Providing help and creating hope for those in need in Champaign County.
Hours of Operation:

  • Monday: 5:00-6:30 pm

  • Friday 9:00-10:30 am

Senior Potlucks
St. Patrick Church in Tolono hosts a monthly potluck lunch which is followed by entertainment, a speaker, or bingo.  Potlucks are scheduled for the second Wednesday of every month at 11:30 am. Anyone age 55 and over is welcome! Please contact Jan Blaney to see what activity is planned during the potluck or if you have any questions.

Good Samaritan Program
The Good Samaritan program offers free in-home or office-based counseling. The "Caring Companions" part of this program matches volunteers with senior citizens who need help with chores, errands, or transportation. Contact professional counselor Eileen Mathy for assistance or to volunteer.

Guardian Angel Outreach for Mothers
This is a parish ministry established by St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in collaboration with Catholic Charities. Our outreach assists at-risk mothers and their infants from conception through the first three years of the baby’s life. Our doors are open to assist all women facing new-life issues from the city of Streator, IL and surrounding communities. Individuals will find a safe and caring environment with dedicated volunteers and staff.

How are Individuals Served?
Individuals in need will find a safe and caring environment when facing one of the greatest challenges of their lives. Guardian Angel Outreach for Mothers partners with Catholic Charities and other health professionals and agencies for supportive services and referrals when needed.

  • Postnatal Education

  • Parenting Skills Classes

  • Assistance with ongoing infant needs up to 3 years

  • Assistance with infant Diapers Guidance

Peoria County - Mother Cabrini Center

These services are available to residents in the Greater Peoria area and nearby rural areas.

St. Bessette Lunch Kitchen
Hours of Operation: Monday - Thursday from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm

Fulton Sheen Food Pantry
Provides free canned foods and dry goods groceries to adults every Friday. Hours of Operation: Fridays from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm

St. Gianna Baby Pantry
Offers diapers, baby wash, lotion, wipes, formula, bottles and other baby needs to families with children. Parents and legal guardians may sign up for assistance once a month. Guests must bring a copy of the birth certificate, or any source of verification of the child.

Walk-ins are welcome during Hours of Operation (one visit per month)

Hours open to the public (unless otherwise noted onsite): Fridays: 11 am - 1pm

St. Joseph Food Pantry Outreach
Food pantries in the Peoria Diocese may request additional canned foods and dry goods bags of groceries to meet their anticipated monthly needs. This outreach is designed to be an as-needed back up source of food for any Catholic food pantry in the Diocese struggling to meet their goal of feeding the hungry.

Diocesan Emergency Disaster Relief Hub
The Bessette Center warehouse will work directly with Peoria Diocese Parishes, in the event of natural disasters and other acts of God, to provide necessary assistance as and where needed.
