We passionately believe that the most urgent task is the compelling proclamation of the gospel, one that not only shares it in an attractive – and concentrated – way, but that also offers people a way of seeing reality, and of making sense of the world, history, and life that is vastly different from the story our modern culture tells.
Until this happens, the Christian faith is often experienced as a mere set of rules and disciplines, and simply going to Church isn’t likely to lead a person to embark on the great adventure that is following Jesus and continuing His mission of the rescuing of this world.
-
The Rescue Project is for anyone and everyone high school age and up! It appeals to those who have been walking with Jesus for years, as well as those for whom Jesus is only a figure in ancient history.
-
Doors will open at 7:00am for check in, light breakfast, and worship music. The program begins at 8:00am and consists of a series of 5 talks, small group discussion, live worship music, lunch, and a Eucharistic procession. The event will conclude by 5:00pm.
-
Rescue Live is primarily a proclamation of the Gospel message and an invitation to commit, and/or deepen one’s commitment to the Lord and His mission. In order to keep this to a one-day event, we recommend that attendees participate in the sacramental life in its primary place, the local parish.
-
Due to the content and length of the talks, Rescue Live is appropriate for those of high school age and above. Lap babies are welcome.
-
Participants will be placed at round tables of 10 to help facilitate small group discussion. We encourage parishes and mission-minded individuals to purchase a table of 10 and fill it by making personal invitations to family, friends, neighbors, etc. To do this, contact missionsupport@cdop.org
-
Fr. Riccardo and the ACTSXXVIIII team do not charge a speaker fee for their events.
The $40 registration fee will cover food and hospitality. The rest of the event costs are covered by generous donors who want to make this day accessible to all. If you would like to help support this evangelistic effort, please contact missionsupport@cdop.org.
